From the very start itself VIT has shown its interest in lot of inter and intra college activities which includes both technical and non-technical acttivities. These events where even further categorised as inter or intra college events.
VIT provides oppurtunities for students to grow and outshine. For this reasons VIT regularly organises a Cultural and Technical Fest every year within the college. Thus it won't be wrong to say that any student passing out from VIT is capable enough to perform well in both academic as well as non academic activities.

Discription:
our student team 'Dev Daredevils' School of Computer Science and Engineering, VIT Chennai for securing Third place in the App Frenzy 2.0 National-level Hackathon, organized by Sri Sairam Engineering College with the objective of developing mobile applications that are innovative and useful in real life. Team won against 100+ competing teams, in which they developed a mobile app "FITNUT". The app uses Google ML kit's pose detection algorithm and the team created a model to detect workouts and count reps. Based on that, a score will be assigned. They have also implemented a leader board which displays the scores to encourage competition.

Our team 'Quarky Quasars' has achieved the position of 'Winner' in the Space Robotics Category in the International Space Science Challenge 2022, organized by Spaceonova. he team won against 100+ competing teams with the proposed idea of 'Asteroid mining bots', which suggested ways to exploit asteroids that are filled with potential minerals that can be beneficial for earthlings in order to solve the problem of lack of resources. The project includes planning and designing the technical aspects of Mining Bots using prototyping software.

This is to inform you that Team Shaurya Racing participated in the Indian Formula Student competition Formula Bharat 2023 held at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore.
Formula Bharat 2023 is a national-level FSAE event where teams across the country participate to compete with a life-size formula-style vehicle in its engineering design, overall cost and manufacturing, business pitch and marketability, and dynamic performance. The competition is divided into 2 categories - Statics and Dynamics.
I am pleased to share with you that we have secured an Overall rank of 9 out of 49 registered teams, and an Overall rank of 6 in Statics while also securing 6th place in Engineering Design and 8th place in Cost and Manufacturing.

The students won 1st Prize in Engineering at Track Optum Stratethon 2021 Season 3 International Hackathon. The students got rewarded with prize money of $6,700 along with PPIs from Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group.
After gruelling rounds of competing with over 17,000+ participants, the Top 12 finalist teams were shortlisted from campus rounds and wild card entries across 150+ colleges from 5 countries. The Grand Finale saw two rounds, first was presenting to the National jury from where the Top 3 teams were selected, followed by a presentation to the Global Jury post where the Winners were announced.
